Football gives young people and communities something of extraordinary value.
It has a unique power to bring people together - locally, nationally and globally. It builds friendship, confidence, resilience, responsibility and wellbeing. It creates belonging across communities, generations, backgrounds and borders.
It offers so much of what truly matters: friendship, belonging, responsibility, routine, growth and connection - all wrapped up in fun.
The passion is already there. Now we need the facilities to match.
Across Ireland, grassroots football is powered by extraordinary commitment. Players play. Coaches and volunteers give their time. Families support their clubs. Communities fundraise and work to improve the places where their game is played.
But the infrastructure is struggling to keep pace. Clubs and communities are already raising money, developing projects and securing public investment. Yet financial and practical barriers can still prevent good projects from progressing or reaching completion.
The Global Ireland Football Foundation (GIFF) exists to bring additional philanthropic investment to grassroots football facilities across Ireland - adding to, rather than replacing, the commitment and investment already being made by clubs, communities and public funders.
